This distinctive feature makes the indoor unit for particularly air-quality-conscious households or for installation in environments with frequently compromised air (e.g., rooms facing busy areas, in cities, near manufacturing activities...). 
Through the use of Plasma Quad Plus technology, the unit is able to eliminate bacteria and viruses thanks to a technology that uses an electric field and a series of electrical discharges through which the air fed into the room passes.
The Plasma Quad PLUS system is an active filtration system that can inhibit up to 99% of viruses, bacteria, mold and PM2.5 in the air, up to 98% of allergens and pollens, and up to 99.7% of dust mites and dust.

The new "Self Clean" function found on MSZ-AY allows the indoor unit to be dried at the end of the cooling or dehumidification click, preventing the formation of mold and odor.

With the MSZ-AY unit, Mitsubishi Electric introduces another revolutionary technology: the Double Barrier Coating. During operation, dust and impurities introduced during air conditioning operations are deposited on the internal components, especially the battery and fan, increasing the machine's power consumption by up to 18%. 
With Double Barrier Coating, the internal components are treated with a second protective layer that prevents dust and impurities from being deposited even after long periods of time, reducing consumption and eliminating the need for maintenance of the unit relative to this issue
 

V Blocking is a new purifying filter that improves on the previous silver ion filter system by adding antiviral action that can inhibit viruses, bacteria, mold, and allergens.

Environmental comfort is also related to sound level and is especially important in bedrooms or studies. The MSZ-AY line makes it possible to ensure the ideal climate all year round with a sound level virtually undetectable by the human ear. The 18dB(A) achieved by the MSZ-AY model (sizes 25 and 35) is quieter than the noise generated by rustling leaves in the wind, making the air conditioner effectively inaudible to the occupants of the room. Ready to be configured and used, it allows the user to remotely manage all air conditioner functions through the Wi-Fi controller.
Taking advantage of the support of the cloud (the "Cloud") to transmit and receive information and the dedicated Wi-Fi interface, you can easily control your system wherever you are via your PC, tablet or smartphone; all you need is an internet connection.
MELCloud is also controlled by voice, thanks to compatibility with Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. 
The MELCloud service is designed to have maximum compatibility with PCs, Tablets and Smartphones through dedicated Apps or via Web Browser.
