Data monitoring and storage

With the ME-AC-MBS-KNX-100 gateway, Mitsubishi Electric's City Multi systems can be easily integrated into an installation based on Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, KNX, BACnet/IP.

The gateway functions as the server device of the installation itself, accessing all signals from each air-conditioning unit and controlling its entire network.

Continuing to query the network and storing the current status of each signal to be monitored, it provides data to the installer when requested.

Error reporting

When the status of a signal changes, the gateway sends a write telegram to the installation, waits for response, and performs the corresponding action. A non-response by a signal triggers a communication error, allowing you to know which signal and which air conditioning unit is malfunctioning.

Link

The interface is connected to the Modbus supervisory system via alternately an RS232/RS485 or TCP/IP over Ethernet serial link and via Ethernet to Mitsubishi Electric's VRF City Multi system.

The Modbus protocol

The Modbus protocol is a communication protocol originally used for PLC networks. Mitsubishi Electric offers an interface for managing up to 100 indoor units (ME-AC-MBS-KNX-100) for management via B.M.S. of the VRF City Multi system.

The interface is connected to the Modbus supervisory system via alternately an RS232/RS485 or TCP/IP over serial connection and via Ethernet.

The KNX Protocol

KNX is one of the world's standard protocols for home and building automation control.

This open protocol ensures product interoperability and compatibility of third-party products. Mitsubishi Electric offers an interface for managing up to 100 indoor units (ME- AC - KNX - 100) for management via B.M.S of the VRF City Multi system.

The interface is connected directly to the EIB bus to the KNX world and via Ethernet to Mitsubishi Electric's VRF City Multi system.
