Monobloc indoor unit equipped with fresh air inlet fan, exhaust air fan, filter system, Lossnay total heat recuperator, by-pass damper, direct expansion coil.

The Lossnay total heat recuperator is of the plate type with cross-flows and is equipped with exchange diaphragms made of special treated paper.

The exceptional heat exchange and moisture permeability properties of this special paper, guarantee maximum exchange of both sensible and latent heat between the two air flows passing through the recuperation element.

The result is the realization of a ventilation system of decidedly exceptional characteristics that guarantee in the environment characteristics of maximum comfort and healthfulness and that allows substantial savings in operating expenses.

In it, mixing between outside air and expelled stale air is impossible.

The size of the diaphragm holes, already microscopic, has been further reduced so as to also decrease the possibility of passage of gases, such as ammonia and hydrogen, which are dissolved in water.

To increase the efficiency of heat and moisture exchange, the treatment undergone by the paper used for the construction of the diaphragms was also implemented.

These improvements made it possible to achieve greater permeability to moisture and greater impermeability to harmful gases giving the whole a higher recovery efficiency and a greater shielding effect against the passage of such gases.

The presence of a direct expansion coil built into the machine allows about 25 percent of the system load to be managed through the GUF.

This means that the size of the terminal units installed in the room can be kept down.

In addition, since the GUF neutralizes the entire load due to ventilation, it is possible to separate the management of the latter from the management of the room load, which benefits the ease of system design.

By ensuring the right level of humidity in the room, it creates characteristics of maximum comfort by preventing unpleasant conditions such as those resulting from dry eyes and throat that typically occur when there is not enough humidity in the room.


The evaporation surface area is about 8.5 times that of natural evaporation humidifiers of the same size, while the performance is 6 times higher.(IMAGE)

When the air conditioning system is running in cooling mode and the outdoor temperature has a value lower than the room temperature (as typically happens during summer nights), the GUF indoor unit detects this situation by automatically excluding the recovery element from the air flow.

Directly feeding lower-temperature outdoor air into the room helps reduce the cooling load on the system.(IMAGE)

An optional high-efficiency filter can run maintenance-free for up to 3,000 hours and with a colorimetric efficiency of 65%.


It can also be retrofitted inside the GUF machine and does not take up valuable space.

The GUF ventilation and recovery models are an integral part of the Melans control and regulation system of Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning systems as they use the same connection bus as the indoor units.

The positioning of connections to aeraulic piping can be changed to meet different installation requirements.
