Mitsubishi Electric is official sponsor of the first edition of Giffoni Sport

In recent years, the formative value of sport as a discipline capable of contributing to the education of young men and women has been universally recognized. Sports and motor activities, in fact, carry an extraordinary potential toward self-knowledge and possibilities for interaction with others.
Sports as a social enabler is the basis of the first edition of Giffoni Sport, an event scheduled from July 20 to 27 within #Giffoni54 that aims to be a place where "the illusion of distance" is transformed into a subtle dance between body and spirit and that Mitsubishi Electric, already a Giffoni Film Festival partner for several years, which has chosen Mitsubishi Electric's technology for the creation of air heating and cooling systems for the Multimedia Valley, has decided to sponsor.
Inside Giffoni's "gymnasium," 50 Sport Ambassadors from all over Italy will compete in noncompetitive competitions to win the Mutual Understanding podium. The Sport Arena will host camps dedicated to basketball, volleyball, badminton, soccer, fencing and martial arts that will test the young generation in an effort of acceptance where the challenges they will undergo will break down distances, inequalities and prejudices by embracing the values of Olympic competition.

The importance and sharing of the values of sports have always been in the DNA of Mitsubishi Electric, which since 2010 has been at the side of Special Olympics Italy, to promote the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities also through the practice of sports, with programs in schools and promotion initiatives at communities. It will be precisely two "special" badminton athletes who will be at the center of a panel dedicated to sport as an engine of change for a more united, welcoming and respectful society towards differences scheduled for July 25 at 4 p.m. to explain how to be and become champions by relying on commitment and willpower even when limitations are present.
And champions are also discussed in the inspirational talk by Andrea Zorzi, a two-time world volleyball champion and now a commentator and columnist for Sky Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport, scheduled for July 24 at 5 p.m.

"For us, sports is the means through which we manage to raise awareness, spread and support integration, educating the youngest to understand and appreciate diversity. And it is precisely for these reasons that we have chosen to join the new initiative promoted by Giffoni, which has always been on the side of boys and girls. What Giffoni develops for young people is unique, and it is to support all of them that we have been collaborating with them for several years now.", said Stefano Canali, Sales Director of Mitsubishi Electric.
"We are extremely pleased to announce that Mitsubishi Electric will be the official sponsor of the first edition of Giffoni Sport. This event represents a significant new initiative within #Giffoni54. Sport is a true social enabler, capable of breaking down barriers and promoting mutual understanding. In this first edition of the event, our Sport Ambassadors from all over Italy will participate in non-competitive competitions that will take place in the Giffoni village, with fields dedicated to different disciplines. The goal is to demonstrate how sports can be a vehicle for inclusion and breaking down inequalities. Mitsubishi Electric, with its ongoing support for Special Olympics Italy, perfectly embodies the values of inclusion and respect for diversity that we want to promote. The presence of 'special' athletes and inspirational speeches, such as that of Andrea Zorzi, will further enrich our program, demonstrating how this discipline can be a powerful engine for social change. We thank Mitsubishi Electric for their support and for choosing to be by our side in this new adventure. We are certain that together we will be able to offer young participants an unforgettable experience, capable of leaving a deep mark on their growth path."The words of Jacopo Gubitosi, General Director of Giffoni.
