Mitsubishi Electric s-AIRME: the new preconfigured and modular air handling units

Standardization and preconfiguration make Mitsubishi Electric's solution an easy-to-install and highly efficient product. The series has air flow rates ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 m3/h and is available in 7 sizes and 3 different power levels: basic, intermediate andboosted covering an overall power range from 10 to 150 kW. s-AIRME boasts a direct expansion treatment coil that connects with Mr Slim series outdoor units with both R410 and low-GWP R32 refrigerant gas.

The new range of air handling units offers state-of-the-art performance thanks to the full inverter technology adopted for both the air handling unit and the connected direct expansion outdoor unit for higher efficiency even at part loads. In addition, the operating range is wide to reach down to -20° in heat pump mode. The structure is also made to ensure maximum comfort, this is in fact based on self-supporting, 60-mm sandwich panels that eliminate the effects of thermal bridging that occur with aluminum elements.

The unit is equipped with flat prefilters and high-efficiency pocket filters that block pollutants, thanks to the drawer extraction then, you can inspect and change the pocket filter quickly and easily. Versatility is what sets the new unit apart; s-AIRME is in fact available in 3 different configurations: AR (All Recirculation) for heat treatment of loads only, MF (Mixing and Free-Cooling) for partial air exchange, and finally HR-P (Heat Recovery Plate Heat Exchange) which allows the system to work with 100% outside air by recovering heat from the extract air stream through a high-efficiency plate heat recovery unit. The adoption of the plate heat recuperator also makes it possible to keep the supply and extract air flows separate to avoid any possible contamination. Accuracy on the air flow rate is punctual and allows different managements: constant, variable, and constant pressure.

Finally, the built-in electrical panel is equipped with a microprocessor that manages both ventilation and thermal demands of the building.

To s-AIRME can be connected a number of optional accessories and modules (pre- and post-heating modules, sanitization, humidification, silencers etc.) that make the unit the ideal tool for air exchange in medium-sized buildings, such as warehouses, supermarkets, retail stores, cinemas and theaters.
