A constant look to the future is the commitment and promise of Giffoni Film Festival which for the 2023 edition, scheduled for next July 20-29, will also count on the sponsorship of Mitsubishi Electric.

The Festival was born in 1971 from an idea of then 18-year-old Claudio Gubitosi, who is still its director today. The protagonists and jurors of the event are children and young people, from all over Italy and the world. Their task is to see the films in competition and discuss them with directors, authors and performers, and then be called upon to choose the winner.

From the sharing of common values and goals comes the collaboration between the Japanese company and the event, which already in 2017 worked together to climate Giffoni Multimedia Valley. The Multimedia Valley is the natural expansion of the Giffoni Film Festival experience and is a project idea that responds to the need to broaden, develop, and articulate the activities of the GFF. The complex includes the largest creative hub in southern Italy at the service of the Giffoni Film Festival with audiovisual productions, workshops and venues for young people, screening rooms, and an arena for major events.

For the Giffoni facility, Mitsubishi Electric built a customized VRF-type air-conditioning system with zoned temperature control for improved indoor comfort management and energy consumption control.

"Giffoni Film Festival represents a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with young talent on important issues such as the future, sustainability and environmental protection. It is necessary for boys and girls to understand the need to reduce their environmental impact and make a commitment to their tomorrow," said Stefano Negri, Marketing Director of Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning division. "From the stage of the kermesse we want to send a message to the new generations. With everyday actions and increasingly conscious choices, it is possible, for example, to contribute to lowering the presence of fine particulate matter in the air, mitigate pollution, combat rising temperatures, and limit the impact on the ecosystem and biodiversity in urban areas."

"Giffoni and Mitsubishi Electric have a common vision projected into the future. Giffoni does this by reaching out to children, opening its doors to the younger generations who are the main protagonists of our activities, listening to their needs. Mitsubishi Electric does the same with technology, accelerating the processes of innovation and development, always in the name of sustainability with a commitment to create a better future." Said Jacopo Gubitosi, general manager of Giffoni.
