Salerno's Porta del Mare, a major urban regeneration project overseen by RCM that offers cutting-edge, environmentally friendly housing solutions, is born in Salerno. The Campania-based company has chosen Mitsubishi Electric to ensure maximum indoor comfort for new residents.

Porta del Mare proposes a way of living urban space in tune with an international lifestyle but with strong ties to Salerno's tradition and identity: a residential neighborhood that soars toward the blue sky with three Towers, overlooking the blue sea, opening onto the green oxygen of a children's playground, in a context in which no detail is overlooked and, on the contrary, becomes a thread to warp a story that, from the commercial area with different types of stores and a catering facility, to the ample parking facilities, bears witness to the past and draws inspiration from the historical, cultural and artistic profile of the city.

Interior comfort was taken care of by Mitsubishi Electric, which, with 191 heat pumps, ensures the production of domestic hot water, heating and cooling in all the more than 180 apartments, including 3 penthouses, that make up the large complex.

Because in the construction of the housing structure great attention was paid to the urban context of reference, the developer relied on Progetto Clima, a partner of Mitsubishi Electric, to find a solution that was not only environmentally friendly but also highly performing and aesthetically adaptable to the architectural style of Porta di Mare.

For 117 medium-sized apartments then, the choice fell on Mr. Slim + models, a hybrid air-to-air, air-to-water heat pump that blends the advantages of a hydronic heat pump and the benefits of a multisplit system. With Mr. Slim + it is possible to produce domestic hot water and heat the room, feeding radiant panels and radiators or through the direct expansion unit that will also provide summer air conditioning: the heat removed from the rooms will be recovered to heat domestic hot water virtually free of charge. Then, to combine the needs for comfort, versatility, and ease of installation for larger housing units, Ecodan Multi units have been installed, which can be connected with any type of indoor unit from Mitsubishi Electric and allow for customized room control. In addition to the heat pumps, the Japanese company also provided its Mel Cloud wi-fi interfaces to offer condominiums the ability to control air conditioning from a PC, Tablet, or Smartphone.

"We want to commit ourselves to environmental protection and preservation starting with projects in our area, and with Mitsubishi Electric's systems for Porta di Mare we add a new piece to a path of energy transition that runs through the channels of innovation and sustainable heating in a simple and intuitive way for the end user. Solutions for every need with cutting-edge technology, high energy efficiency, quality, reliability, quietness, and environmental friendliness," said Stefano Negri, Marketing Director of Mitsubishi Electric.
